If you need to bank samples larger than 1ml, your best options is to put each sample in a 50 milliliter conical (ie. a Falcon brand tube or a polypropylene tube from Corning or another manufacturer) and then add 1.4ml of PROT1 per 1.0ml of whole blood (or cell suspension). The ratio of PROT1 volume to sample volume needs to be kept at 1.4 but you can scale up or down as needed. You would not require the Smart Tubes for this application.
